Testimonials
I learned many things in the class like what to do with the mic stand, proper open mic etiquette, how to construct a bit and most importantly that stand-up comedy is by the most fun semi-legal thing a person can do. If you're scared of doing it for the first time the Brody class is a perfect place to get over that fear. " -Dan Weber "I wanted to do stand-up so badly, but couldn't overcome my stage fright. I went to Brody in order to help, and walked away with a strong foundation of jokes I could use to get started, which made that whole awkward process of open mic'ing a lot easier. You'll get honest feedback and inside info on how the PDX comedy scene works if you take this class" --Andie Main "The Brody Intro to Standup with Tom Johnson was the most important step I took in creating a strong base to explore comedy. I'm grateful to have learned the tools and protocol to properly present myself at open mics and events. It's a long road, but I'm proud of what I do and I couldn't have done it without taking this class." -Jenna Sather The Brody Theater standup class gave me the push I needed to get on stage with confidence after years of fearing it. Outside of a few invaluable technical tips(how to deal with mic stands and open mic hosts) it gave me an opportunity get use to being completely terrible in front of a small group before I had to be completely terrible in front of a larger group. -Robbie Pankow |
